Hi, Amber. I haven't used his methods because I teach older students, but I have had a workshop that he led. I thought it was phenomenal and I agree with his educational philosophy 100%. I did get two of his books and also a movement dvd, and have incorporated them when I can. I don't think you will go wrong with his materials.

Fierabend has a book called "First Steps in Music" That tells you exactly what to do in each class. I strongly suggest also getting the music CDs that go with it, "Old Joe Clark, Had little Rooster, and one more???? Also, you can play Around the World with the one-note flashcards. Students sit in a circle. One student stands behind their neighbor and the teacher flashes the first card for those two students. It is easy to make the card with the notes on it, I recommend making the cards with all quarters, all halves, all eighths, etc, Then advancing on to mixing the rhythms, make sure they are simple rhythms. Also make sure that the students have rests in there. I hope this helped!
