I was just told by the current principal that he is moving me from second grade to prekindergarten (not happy- as I know nothing about PreK- he wants rigor there and that is why the previous Prek Teacher is being remove and place in Kindergarten (this comment make no sense to me but I will go with it). OKay sorry for taking so long to get to the point but here it is. Just received a called from District office that I need to go online and check out prek curriculum and chose one that I would like to use. District currently has Creative Curriculum- but are not getting the results they want. Please help what curriculum are you using in your classrooms? Thanks in advance for you suggestion of curriculum- I have to notify them by August 13th.
meeeha/ece/hi Creative Curriculum is a good curriculum if/when it is used WITH FIDELITY. Supplemental curricula that I like to use include ZOO PHONICS and HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS. I've not yet found a preschool Math curriculum or Science curriculum that I'm ready to invest in. I do use the OOEY GOOEY science books and do some "fun" science type work with the k...See More

Joan/VPK Florida We use Houghton Mifflin Pre-K 2006 edition, but there is a 2011 edition called Splash that looks good, too. I believe it has the "rigor" you seek, but leaves enough leeway to plan plenty of fun activities. The program will take care of the reading and math, but you'll need to look elsewhere for the writing/handwriting.
