This is a very moist, almost cake-like bread. In fact, I have made it as a cake in a 9x13 pan, iced with vanilla or almond butter cream icing.

CRANBERRY APPLE BREAD

2C flour 1t baking powder 1/2t cinnamon 1/3t salt 1/2C milk 1C whole cranberries 1C apples, peeled and cut (I use Granny Smith) 1/4C walnuts (optional, I do not use) 1/2C crisco solid shortening 1C sugar 1 egg

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Blend in milk. Sift in dry ingredients. Add cranberries and nuts.

Bake in greased loaf pan. 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

merimom- answer Yes, whole uncooked cranberries. You can even throw them in still frozen.
