Please give me feedback. Our most recent principals are using itinerant learning support teachers to do daily lunch duty. So, we are to practice co-teaching with our regular education colleagues, then go do lunch duty, have our own lunch, and so on. Situated around the lunch period is an intervention period, of which I reminded my principal I will miss part of due to me taking my own lunch. He has not problem with me missing part of this period, yet I am charged with helping my students make academic progress in the general curriculum, as well as toward their goals. I cited that LS teachers have PVAAS accountability for teaching Reading/Math, whereas our specials teachers do not. He identified they have building accountability. I do not know how else to present this argument.

So, how do other schools handle lunch duty. Are only LS teachers being used or who else is accountable for this duty?
