I was excited about doing the grocery bag project I read
about online, but the local supermarkets say they cannot
participate due to health department regulations. They say
the bags will be considered "used" after they are
decorated. Has anyone does this this year? If so, can you
say what supermarket chain worked with you on this?

participate is that they'd rather use plastic bags instead of
paper ones. However, you might be able to find a chain that
will participate, especially if they try to project an

We did the project last year. We did not go into mass market
grocery chains but used supermarkets that specialize in organic
foods, etc because they generally only use paper bags and carry
out environmental awareness projects themselves. They were
