SC to suspend National Board stipend??

Anyone hear about this- it was on NPR. They want to freeze our salaries AND eliminate the $7500.00 stipend for new NBCTs. Any teacher that voted Republican deserves what they get.

CALL CERRA ASAP! For NBCT's who certified in 2010, they are talking about not giving backpay for the 2010-2011 stipend in the July 2011 payment. NOT RIGHT! Call CERRA and tell them that we deserve better than this!

No, I do not think they will suspend them in SC -- too hard to get teachers to stay as it is. that is what CERRA is all about, trying to retain teachers in SC. They KNOW in Columbia that the stipend is a godsend for many teachers and I have a feeling it will stay - otherwise many good teachers will move elsewhere, if possible. There will be a real roar if it were happen as in SC there are many NB's - just my thoughts, however.
