Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

My husband is being let go from his job at the end of this month. He has been talking to a potential employer and they gave him a job offer today. We were originally thinking the job would take us to NC but now it is taking us to Nashville from S. Florida. I just graduated in December with my elementary ed degree and have been unable to find a job down here due to a hiring freeze plus graduating mid-year did not help either. I've been subbing in the meantime. The offer he received was not great and we'll need my income to help support our family of four. So what I want to know is Nashville and surrounding areas hiring for elementary school teachers for the 2009-2010 school year? I know it may be premature to ask because usually schools know around April which teachers are retiring, etc and how many teachers they'll need for the upcoming school year. I have looked on various school board websites and there are not a lot of vacancies right now but like I said it is early.
