2. What current/new singers/groups...See MoreYes, I haven't been here in what seems like forever. It wasn't a planned thing, just life. Anyhoo, I have missed you all. I can't reply to anyone today--can't join on the phone for some reason, but I am reading and have missed the Sunday surveys. So here's my latest:
1. What's your favorite soup?
2. What current/new singers/groups do you enjoy?
3. What celebrity would you like to spend an hour or two with over dinner or coffee?
Elaine/ret/IN1. Curried Pumpkin Soup (from the Panera Bread recipe site sans butter) 2. I'm listening to the "Hamilton" sound track these days. 3. Michelle Obama
men52clam chowder, the creamy one, and I haven't had it in several years. living with grandchildren I hear all the current stuff. I LOVE Ed Sheeran and 21 Pilots I think I would like to spend time with Pope Francis
Cardio day!! No itching episode today so that was good.
I did 2:1 intervals on the treadmill. I did 2 minutes at 3 mph, no incline and 1 minute at 4 mph, 4 incline. I did these for 45 minutes. To cool down and lower my heart rate, I walked for another 9 minutes dropping the speed every 2 minutes.
judycaretI walked for 40 minutes then did my oldies' exercise class. It makes me smile every week. it was a gorgeous not-too-hot day in Northern California. Really good day.
Elaine/ret/INSounds like a good day for these three steppers. I had 13K+ steps today. Takes lots of steps keeping up with a toddler. Our fun today was playing hide-and-seek. He really loved it, but his preference was for the two of us to hide together. And, then there was no one to seek. He did not care.
I buy a lot of books with CDs from Scholastic and do worry about something happening to the CDs. Does anyone have problems with their CDs? Should I not worry about them? Thanks in advance.
The gym was quieter than usual today. I liked that very much. There are some exercisers that use the gym more for socializing and less for working out. Sometimes I get sucked into their conversations when all I really want to do is workout and get home.
Workout
--barbell squat, 65 lbs (no increase), 8 reps, 4 sets, 1:30 rest between sets
--cable crossover, 7.5 lbs (12.5 lbs decrease), 10 reps, 3 sets, 1:30 rest between sets (used a different machine that was much wider so I couldn't lift last weeks weight)
--thigh abductor, 50 lbs, 10 reps, 6 sets, :45 rest between sets (somehow I forgot to do this exercise last Monday so I added it in today)
total weight lifted 12,860 lbs
This is week 5 of this 12 week program and the scale is NOT moving. I weigh the same as the day I started this program. Now, part of this is because I am not following the food plan suggested. I am staying within my calorie allotment most days. In the past, the scale not moving down would have put me in a tizzy. I do feel that I am getting stronger physically even it the changes aren't showing up on the outside so much.
I an going to reread the food plan and possibly incorporate it starting next week.
I did take those two for a bike ride tonight so I guess I did exercise a little.
Right now I am trying out a chocolate zuchinni cake recipe. I found this huge zuchinni in my garden yesterday- grated made 3 cups! Perfect for the recipe. It sure makes the house smell wonderful!
