Hi all, I was recently hired in October in a Kindergarten position and so far I'm loving it! Well today my principal gave me and the other kindergarten teacher a form asking us to write down other locations we are willing to go if there is a possible RIF. Is this common or is this a sign of things to come. Please help as I'm kinda anxious now.
To find out more, you need to talk with people in YOUR district. The principal would probably be open to a conversation with you. Tell your principal that you have really loved teaching kindergarten in this school. Ask what the projections are for kindergarten enrollment for fall and what he/she is anticipating for you. Make clear that you understand that the answer is not a guarantee.
Good luck! (P.S. I'm retiring this year after teaching in the same part-time, grant-funded program since 1990. I have been RIF'ed every year!)

I have used it for a few years mainly because it gives me energy. But I am learning a lot of good things about the oil and believe it would be helpful to my husband who has had brain cancer and may be at risk for Alzheimer's-- there is a lot of info out there from people saying it has helped their elderly parents. However, I can't get it into hubby! He doesn't drink coffee (I love coconut oil in my coffee!), and while he does drink tea, only cold tea. He doesn't drink "smoothies" (neither do I). I tried putting some in his soup but he noticed the oil sheen, even tho I didn't use much. We are watching carbs for diabetic issues so I can't make "energy bars" and such. Anyone have any ideas?! The more I read about coconut oil and Alzheimer's, the more I'm convinced it can be a help. I've explained all this to hubby and that it would be up to me to care for him if he got Alzheimer's and to do something to help himself, if there's even only a good possibility it will help! He can't take capsules of anything larger than a small capsule about the size of Vitamin A due to choking issues...
Can you also inject the coconut oil into some of his favorite types of fruit?

6,834 steps, so far today. No formal workout. WW weight in=-1.8# Whoo-hoo! 5 more # to goal. It is on the higher end of the range, but 113# (lower end) is unrealistic!!! Maybe in jr. high. lol
Have a great weekend. We are hoping the snow on the ground will be gone tomorrow!!
Elaine/ret/INBev, way to go on WW weigh-in. Be careful--Twiggy's not in style these days--ha! No ground snow would be another bonus.
Rain this a.m. Cool in the afternoon. Back to pulling the hood up. 8701 steps, first to the library and then with SIL. Great day for walking. Like every day. Almost.
The birthday girl woke up with her sister's stomach bug so other then opening presents any celebration will have to wait til tomorrow.
We are having a cool rainy this morning, so our 90 pound "puppy" has to wait for her longer walk. It's all I can do to hold on when she knows we are heading home. Very powerful animal, but a sweetheart.
How's jrod doing without the trainer involvement? I am looking forward to warmer temps I want to start up some outside rides.
Judy, thanks for reporting in. You are such a positive person. You're still making lemonade (and your house is cleaner for all that!).
Rain rain rain. I walked with three different people in the library today. I forgot my pedometer, which is a good thing. I'm guessing I'm in the 5-6K range.
No rain up here, yet. It is very cold out, so we are expecting freezing rain/snow tonight.
11,398 steps with Zumba and 3 miles hall walking this morning.
Getting close to WW goal weight! I can do this...I can do this!

A little bit ago, I typed a post regarding LGBT+ students. I have many responses and I love that. I am still looking for a few more so please keep up the work!!!!
To all my fellow teachers! I was looking for teacher discounts online and ended up finding an organization called National Public Employee Alliance and they give free professional liability insurance and tons of discounts specifically for teachers. It helps that they are also way cheaper to join.
