There has been much made of saying "Happy Holidays" vs "Merry Christmas" at this time of year. Should your greeting match your own religion or reflect that of your friend? IOW, if you are Christian would you say "Happy Hannakuh" or "Merry Christmas" to your Jewish friends? What would want/expect to hear from your Jewish friends?

AM If I know what yours is I will offer you that greeting. If I am unsure but pretty sure you might not be Christian I will say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to others.

You can say whatever you wish to me and I will appreciate the the greeting. I am one to pay attention to intention over actual verbiage.
