I had a phone interview this week which came out of the blue. Can anyone tell me what website they go to to check their application status? I know how to log in to my dodea application but i've never gotten emails saying I was put on referral lists so I have no idea if i'm doing it right!
Hi! I noticed that my application says DL-Qualified. What does that mean? I also saw someone write that they were DP-Qalified. What is the difference? Thank you for any and all help!
hahaIt's not that unusual. You could still call HR and find out who was handling your file if there is some action you need taken or information you need.
I've seen a few people ask, so I wanted to share. I've received emails that I am on 4 lists for elementary...Misawa and Iwakuni (2 lists for each school). No interviews yet.
hahaYes, it is true. Many schools will still have relatively unexpected openings due to retirements (many teachers wait to put in their papers if waiting until school starts offers a benefit to them or they just decide at the last minute) or PCS moves (if they are a contractor or military spouse).
By all means, change your application to a local target once you get in country, but you really would be better off applying to international schools in the area now. positions would still be limited and competitive (especially if you are only going for SS positions) but you would have a better chance of landing something.
I had two requests from the same principal to interview for a SE position in Japan but I declined the interview. Was this the kiss of death for me? Perhaps I should not have answered her e-mail.
If you are not interested in Japan (huge mistake IMHO, but I am admittedly biased) then I would presume you are not interested in any of the Pacific schools/bases. If that is true, then it could be that you are just really limiting the number of vacancies/locations that you could be considered for.
TeacherMama K in DaeguI got my offer on Thursday and the background check info on Monday. Today I got an email on how to apply for the Burgundy passports. Things are moving!
