Hello all. I have got a referral so just in the beginning stages but wanted to get some information before the opportunity comes for an interview. I am currently a dodea teacher state side and have never taken a job over seas. If anyone has some good information that would be greatly appreciated.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with living and working on both of these bases. If so, could you share the pros and cons of both of them, especially for a family (with older kids - and with a cat coming along for the trip), thanks!
happytoteachThanks to everyone for their input, we really appreciate it! Can anyone provide any information about living on or off base in Yokosuka? Are there any sections off base that are better than others (nearer transportation? Newer apartments/houses?)

Does anyone know if the principals conducting interviews have access to all of the info in our applications (work history, international experience, educational history, etc) or do they just see the "rating" that each candidate receives based on the merits of their application?
Hello, it has been a while since I've posted anything. I just recently, about two weeks ago, interviewed for a position in Alconbury, UK. Is there anyone out there that has experience or knowledge about the area. Is this a good location? Is there things to do? Thanks....
The UK is amazing though and one of our favorite places to visit. From that area, the Cotswolds, London (and many other amazing places) are an easy travel distance away. And, the UK is one of the only places where you can teach for DoDEA overseas and English is the local language (sort of :S :D).
Dr. Ali FantI have taken a POV to West Germany and purchased a used POV in Germany as recently as 2012. Considering the shipping wear/tear on the POV, it is easier to purchase a used POV from a dealership with the Advanced DoDEA Salary option. You can rent a car on post for a week to check out used cars your first free weekend.
I just applied for my first overseas DoDEA job about three weeks ago and just received an email that said I was referred. Just curious, how many candidates are typically referred for a position? Is it different depending on whether it is a teacher job or administrator position? Since I am new to this, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I was checking my transcripts on EAS and noticed that all the ones that were scanned from hard copies are red! This is my 8th year using EAS and this has never happened. Is this new? Does anyone else have this problem?
To be clear, this happens when I actually open the files I uploaded.
I have been waiting for my Visa to Italy for 6 weeks now. I emailed my Visa specialist and she said that Belvoir DOD Visa HQ has shut down twice for Covid. However, they should be taking my Passport to the Embassy next Tuesday or Thursday.
BubbleHead711My Passport Specialist Emailed today to say the Visa's are back and she will be overnighting them. 7 weeks to take care of something that was actually done in 4 business days
somedayAnd now I just got a reminder email and the 0300 is gone from the position. Deadline is 1430 CST. This was just strange because it appears they were searching inactive EAS applications to fill the referral list but it isn't an internal position because it specifically states of you are a current Dodds teacher you do not qualify.
