This is my first year of probation working as a DoDEA stateside emoloyee. Can I get my EAS unlocked and how would I go about this? I love my principal and new position, but if a foreign post came up I think it would be a great experience for me and my family.
I'm am checking to see when we can begin putting our application together for the 2020-21 school year. It is to my understanding the Army has taken over HR, and the ability to call in to ask questions has gone away. Everything has to be emailed to USARMY.APG.CHRA-NE.MBX.APPLICANTHELP@mail.mil.
If you are on the outside looking in like me and have a different experience with the changes with the application, please let me know. Thank you!
Lindsey@Daniel I found that this system has been much more applicant friendly. I used to try and call and call but get no answer or a returned call. I feel like they are much more responsive now.
I received my start date of March 2nd today. For all the current DoDDS folks...what do you think is an appropriate time to arrive there? I have PCS'd before with my husband a few times before he passed but it was stateside. I am heading to Germany and curious as to how much time you all think I will need to get everything in order ie. get my drivers license, house hunt some, and get somewhat settled/organized. Will there be a lot of in processing tasks that I will need to complete upon arrival? I am pretty flexible at my current job so I can leave whenever really of course so long as it is within orders time frame and passports are back.
Lindsey@someday woah that is nuts!! I better get on that now. @icanread oh my the next day?? I would be a zombie. @haha I have only lived in very big cities...sounds like there will be a bit of a culture shock for me lol
MullinzoYes, haha, Disabled Preschool is the cert needed for PSCD. It looks like I'm 7 unites short of the SPED Assessor cert and my Moderate to Severe cert is still pending approval. Thank you both for the insights. I appreciate it.
Administration emailed me that the position is currently vacant so the person hired would begin ASAP after HR approval. The position is for this school year and next. It is a permanent position.
Thank you Icanread for posting the link to the PR salary schedule. The phone interview will be 01/01/2020.
IcanreadGood luck! It's a stateside position so after a year, you can open your application for overseas. Lots of teachers get into Dodds that way. With no transfer round, many are considering going stateside to get picked up elsewhere in DoDDS.
IcanreadJust some ideas on questions you might get asked... how you would support teachers, curriculum development, trainings you could do for staff... Good luck!!
I'm curious as to how it goes with my son being on my orders in Europe, he will be graduating this year. Can he attend college on base or does he fall off of my orders. Thanks in advance.
hahaYou review each page and make sure the information is accurate/complete, then hit submit (you should not need to reset/re-enter much, if anything). Yes, you should delete and re-upload your documents.
First question- I checked my EAS account. It isn't locked. This is a must? (I have to tell my supervisor on Monday and she's going to be not so happy...so I'm worried I'll make her mad for naught).
Second question- I have looked and looked and do not know what Americas teacher contract days are. I wanted to start on my math for how much of a pay cut I'm going to have. Are yearly contract days 190? Daily hours 7.5 or 8? I have already gotten my 5 years accepted and they resent my tentative offer with that salary.
Third question- when earning leave do you get sick leave and vacation/personal days? Or is sick/personal all in one? I am a current GS employee and I've been told my hours will transfer over. (I have a trip that has been planned for 2 years and need to have Principal sign off on this trip....non-refundable-- but I think I'm filling a hard to find someone spot....or at least I think so). I'm hoping I can get paid during this as I'll be bringing over at least 66 hours.
