Well, it's tentative on a few things. Yes, the candidate accepting the offer, but also tentative until you provide them with the next step of documents/documentation (e.g. proof of medical fitness, obtaining a passport, your actual official/unopened transcripts, yes you will need those so probably should make sure you have some) and pass a backgrou...See More

In reality it seems relatively rare for someone to be screened out once they have reached the tentative offer stage.

I am very appreciative of the answers and the patience. I have tried to go through the entire DODD forum. Am I missing a search feature? At any rate, I am really concerned about the timeline given my circumstances, but no point in worrying until I actually get an offer. Again, many, many thanks!

I hear you. We were teaching internationally, had already given notice and were within days of needing to tell the shippers where to send our 2 cubic meters of belongings when I got the call from DoDEA.
