I certified CTE, took all 4 components in one year- well, I took C1 last year, but re-took one of the essay questions to raise my score (and did!). Just curious, why would you need to raise your score on a question? Don't you either just pass or fail each component? New at this and trying to figure it out. Thanks.

When you retook an essay question, was it one of the questions you had previously? I missed passing by .07 of a point. I scored my best score on 1 so I'm concerned about scoring higher. Any suggestions

The calculator is correct. If you add up all the weights and divide by a components weight, you get the % you've seen all along.

I feel the whole scoring system is unnecessarily complicated. We shouldn't have to analyze our scores and do computations to see if we passed or not. My comp 1 was 2.731 - what is that supposed to mean? It doesn't actually say anywhere, congratulations you passed. You have to go and figure it all out. Doesn't make sense to me. Comp 1- retakes are $125. Comp2-4 first time/retakes 475
selected response as well as component 2. I would really appreciate some tips if anyone is listening and on the chatboard at this time.
