Can anyone help me find the best way to post jobs for teachers? Our daycare is presently hiring Kindergarten and Pre K teachers and I don't know where to look for anyone interested!
A substantial fraction of many people's days is spent worrying about what others think of them. If nobody ever worried about what was in other people's heads, we'd all be 33 percent more effective in our lives and on our jobs.

It was a new routine and we worked our upper legs very hard. I got off that bike at exactly 17 miles. The ride home was enjoyable and relaxing as I coasted along.
I am carting kids around later this afternoon so I am glad I had that morning time to myself. Now I might try to fit in a short nap. Lunch was leftover grilled salmon, brown rice with chopped broccoli. I am still hungry. I am glad the family already ate the donuts to prevent me from indulging in something I shouldn't
Men, I love the image of you speeding to spinning class, love the redundancy. I'm thinking of Shuffletown as you post your meal and winking at your donut story.
Judy, yes, I'm feeling better--thanks for being so thoughtful; stitches come out on Friday. You're doing the multiple venue exercising popularized by jrod and Bev,
I walked 6841 steps today plus my yoga class.
Do miles driven count? I think I put on 80 miles today as I drove to 4 towns in our county for various meetings. I was feeling smug until I chatted with a "Yoder Toter" (that's local vernacular for people who provide motor transportation for Amish). She'd been in 3 different counties today, sometimes multiple trips. She started at 5:30 a.m. and expected to finish at 9:00. Wow.
men52Elaine: I used to live in Goshen in Elkhart County for nine years. I laughed at your Yoder toter comment. I knew a couple of people who drove Amish around but I don't recall that moniker. Now neighbors named Yoder were plentiful - like Miller, Hershberger, Schwarzenruber, etc Thanks for the memory!
2. Do you feel the technology helps students to think m...See MoreI did not get many responses from my last post so I compiled some questions for my interview. I need three different teachers to respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please answer the following questions:
1. What types of technology are available in your classroom?
2. Do you feel the technology helps students to think more in depth?
3. What types of questions do you think about to integrate technology when creating lesson plans and instruction?
4. Do you feel technology integration is a step in the right direction?
5. What types of technology do you feel are better for classroom use, for example are laptops more beneficial than tablets?
6. Do you think students experience more from technology than standard teaching techniques?
7. What are some of the problems you have encountered in the classroom from integrating technology?
8. Do you create a backup plan in case the technology fails?
9. Do you feel technology is user friendly for all students or do some struggle to learn from the devices?
10. Do you feel technology makes your job easier or harder?
flackaI wrote out all my answers and they disappeared when I scrolled to see the last question - sorry, I am not going to re-do it. Hopefully someone will have better luck with the technology LOL
2. Do you feel the technology helps students to think more in depth? Yes, depending on the purpose of the task
3. What types of questions do you think about to integrate technology when creating lesson plans and instruction? availability of devices, length of lesson plan, amount of time needed to teach the technology
4. Do you feel technology integration is a step in the right direction? In most cases yes. I would caution against using technology for the sake of technology.
5. What types of technology do you feel are better for classroom use, for example are laptops more beneficial than tablets? chrome books are on the top of the list because of students being able to work online from another location by signing into Google
6. Do you think students experience more from technology than standard teaching techniques? Depends on the depth of the tasks
7. What are some of the problems you have encountered in the classroom from integrating technology? Haven't had too many issues other than hardware issues - students moving keys, dropping the device etc. It doesn't happen very often, but it is a concern.
8. Do you create a backup plan in case the technology fails? Yes, always be prepared
9. Do you feel technology is user friendly for all students or do some struggle to learn from the devices? Most are able to learn from one another if they struggle
10. Do you feel technology makes your job easier or harder? easier
I decided I needed quiet time during my walk today. I heard 4 loud barking dogs. Fortunately all were inside their houses. What I have been missing with a podcast or book in my ears! Or perhaps I'm just more sensitive now.
Hope you, too, have great outdoor weather and the opportunity to enjoy it.
Elaine, I'm still skittish around loose dogs. Hang in there.
I took a long walk today, over 12,000 steps, to make up for big time indulgence with family yesterday. Then I indulged some more this afternoon. Oh well, tomorrow...
DD and her wonderful husband were here from 500 miles away yesterday. I put them to work. They filled their SUV with a load to Goodwill. They also took stuff for themselves. And he helped me with a couple of tech issues. I'd put aside some very nice clothes from when I was working, too good for Goodwill, and DD loved them, yay! I am thrilled! I'm going to get rid of this accumulation of years if it's the last thing I do.
Please feel free to just talk. I really need to know what do you think about when you integrate technology into your lessons and into your instruction. Also how do you integrate technology into your instruction. Thanks for your response and help.
