Hang in and keep moving t...See MoreWow. Absent for a week and things have changed. I have continued walking and using the treadmill almost daily. Today was an off day. Still staying nights with DM. Tonight GN is staying with her. Back to pt exercise tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about dog bite, Elaine. I will have to backtrack to read about it.
I didn't have the energy to post last evening. I did squeeze in a 45 minute walk yesterday before going to DGS's piano recital. It was delightful, but full of lots of angst for some of the participants. Our little nearly 2nd grader was perhaps too young to have nerves. He boldly announced his pieces and then played them with his usual authority. Proud moment for the fam.
Repeating Bev's admonition: we keep moving our feet, don't we? (Even if we're sometimes silent.)

If you value the world simply for what you can get out of it, be assured that the world will in turn estimate your value by what it can get out of you.
We repeated the route from last Saturday but with one less stop and at a faster pace. So, with the adjustments I made since last Saturday, I saw a lot of improvement in a week. It helped also that it was 10 degrees cooler, too. Drinking an electrolyte replenishment drink and moving my gears so that the back tire didn't feel like a brake was in helped the most. I have hope again that I can accomplish my end of August long ride goal. We rode 12 miles plus I rode my bike to and from the meeting place.
Phew, hard time getting here--had to use old name. Let's see what posts. Finally got to walk 10,000 steps after 5 days of 0 (no caregiver). Tomorrow is company then I should be back on track for a while starting Monday.
I'm so glad t...See MoreThanks for asking, Men. The bite is healing nicely, and the tetanus shot isn't very sore any more either. Yes, definitely a new route. Darn, I'll miss the trees on the street where the dog lives.
I envy you for mastering your gears. Mine seem a mystery to me, and I always revert to my tried-and-true 1-favorite-speed.
I'm so glad that your goal seems attainable. You have lots of training time left. Hope the weather cooperates.
Judy, so glad you're back "out" again. the changes here are a bit frustrating, but I hope to persist and learn to like them. Did you read books last week?
I had my steps in yesterday but didn't post. Today I'm just under 6K, but we did a 10-mile bike ride in addition.
We laid our long-time Sunday morning coffee hostess to rest today. We'd had coffee with her weekly (and sometimes more) for more than 46 years. She died in January, but they held the memorial service today. She's my role model: so loyal, so accepting, so forgiving. Wish I could be half the woman she was.
I'm applying for a $300 grant for STEM, College Prep, or Literacy. It should be something classes can use year after year. I teach 5th grade. My mind is blank at the moment. Ideas? My room is filled with books, so I'm ruling that out. Someone suggested a photo printer for literacy enrichment...not sure about that. Please help. Thanks.
One cannot divine nor forecast the conditions that will make happiness; one only stumbles upon them by chance, in a lucky hour, at the world's end somewhere, and holds fast to the days as to fortune or fame.
Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds.
Spanish teacher here. Have any of you used a Project Based Learning (PBL) assessment in your classroom? We are being encouraged to create a PBL assessment, but I have not found ANY language examples for World Language instructors when I visit PBL sites.
Any good "driving questions" you have asked to your students?
I'm having a hard time giving students free reign, especially in the lower levels. Any ideas or suggestions will help a ton!
