Some might remember me; most won't. I belonged to the T net community beginning way back in its infancy. Yep. When I first joined there was only the one board, the one now called the main board. THAT long ago.
Well, after four years of retirement, I am back in the saddle, this time in the Sunshine state!
bill T/FlI remember you, Judy. You too, Elaine. I did 6th grade science for years. Just going back to what I know. I will look into doing what you suggest, Bob. Sounds interesting.
I watched the end of the race last night in the Tour le France (budding interest in the sport plus complete admiration for those athletes. How in the world do those men do that for so many days and miles? Incredible. Poor guy last night lead the entire race and at the last moment, the group passed him . He was trying to do it by himself because he lost two of his team members. It really is fascinating to watch all the maneuvering and chess like moving.
Please contact me right away (seriously, as soon as possible). Please only actual teachers, currently employed in public or private schools, country doesn't matter. Looking forward!

**This was supposed to be pullups but I can't do these properly even modified so I switched to the machine that targets the same muscles. I could totally feel the muscles being worked. I couldn't feel that with my lousy pullups.
As I was working out, another gym client saw me trying to find the right height for the one legged squat. She asked me if I was training for a competition. I was so flattered but told her I was just trying to get fit and stay that way!
Later, while I was doing the kneeling squat, another client was working out with my trainer. I mentioned that the trainer was very good at pushing gently to try doing certain exercises. She agreed and then looked at me and said I was in good shape. Two compliments in one day from strangers! I call that a win.
I just spent a couple hours weeding our yard before the excessive humidity hit. Then the superstorm hit mid afternoon so there went any biking plans.
The 4H yeast bread sticks took forever to make and she got some great feedback at the pre judging. They were good and we had the extras with our supper. Brother's muffins were well received and he learned a lot from what the judge might be asking him Monday.
I hope to go to spinning in the am before the storms hit again.
Of all the forces that make for a better world, none is so indispensable, none so powerful as hope. Without hope, people are only half alive. With hope, they dream and think and work.
Hello, I am a new teacher and will be teaching kindergarten this upcoming school year. What is the best way you think to present classroom rules to this grade level?
flackaCreate the rules with the class so that they take ownership. You can guide the list and summarize (no hitting, don't say mean words = be nice) There should be a MAXIMUM of 5 rules. Go over them every day for at least a week and then less often or as needed.

Tell the students this means to "STOP" and Create a Large picture of an amber (yellow) EAR sign means Listen Create a Large picture of green circle that means GO AND THE LAST RULE IS LOOK WITH A SET OF EYES. Each sign will need to be demonstrated by 3 children until the entire class has a turn of rotating the three new rules every day of the week. This will become a repetition every day during class you will hold the sign up and have the students demonstrate what the sign is telling them to do. This can become a following directions activity, with shapes, and colors. They can color a different sign each day. The parents can help them with cutting pictures to create the same activity for homework. Cut a picture of 2 stop signs, and paste them side by side, Cut a picture of 2 ears and paste them side by side, Cut a picture of 2 green circles and paste them side by side, THE LAST RULE IS LOOK WITH A SET OF EYES DRAW 2 SETS and paste them side by side,Now have them trace the words red and STOP, EAR sign means Listen, green circle that means GO. THE LAST RULE IS LOOK WITH A SET OF EYES. THESE ACTIVITIES WILL LAST UNTIL EVERY CHILD HAS LEARNED THE 4 GOLDEN RULES IN SCHOOL. God Luck!!!!
